Get your price offer in 2 minutes
First things first — complete the Trade-in assessment to find out how much you can get for it. For help with the assessment, check out: How do I describe the condition of my device?
Step 1. Select "Trade-in" from the navigation menu at the top of the page.
Step 2. Select the category your device is in.
Step 3. Answer a few questions about your device’s model and condition. Learn more about how to assess the condition
Step 4. Receive your price offer from a professional refurbisher.
Step 5. Decide if you want to accept or reject the price offer. If you decide to reject the offer, keep in mind that you can do the assessment again to receive different price offers.
Accept your price offer & finalize your trade-in
If you decide to accept the offer, you’ll need to fill out your info so we can complete the transaction and you can get paid. Keep in mind that you must be at least 18 years old to trade in your device.
Step 1. Log in to your Back Market account > “My trade-ins” > “Track my trade-in(s)”.
Step 2. Enter your bank account and routing numbers, account holders' names, and your full driver's license number or the last 4 digits of your Social Security number (SSN). Don’t worry, all your info will be protected. Read more about why we need this info
Step 3. Enter your name, date of birth, current address, and phone number.
Counteroffers
If you send an item that is in a different condition than described during the assessment, a refurbisher will send you an updated price offer based on the actual condition of your item.
You can always reject the counteroffer and get your item sent back to you for free.
Ship the device
To receive payment, you must ship your device within 21 days of receiving your offer. You may need to include your device’s accessories in your shipment. Check to see if it’s mandatory for your device
Step 1. Once you’ve finished entering your address information, you’ll get a prepaid shipping label or QR code via email.
Step 2. Prep your device for shipping. Back up and delete any important data on your device before shipping it. Disconnect your iCloud or Google account from your device even if it’s no longer working — devices connected to an account can't be accepted.
Step 3. Pack your item carefully, making sure it’s protected and cushioned in a strong box.
Step 4. Ship your device by dropping it off at your nearest "The UPS Store®" location.
Note that only "The UPS Store®" retail locations accept QR codes. These are not the same as "UPS Access Points", "UPS Customer Centers", or "UPS Drop Boxes" — all of which do not accept QR codes.
Find "The UPS Store®" retail location near you (Select "See All Options" > "Location Type" > "The UPS Store®")
Get paid
Once the refurbisher receives your device, they have 2 business days to check and make sure that it matches the assessment. If everything checks out, the refurbisher will process the payment immediately. You’ll see the money appear in your bank account within 3-6 business days, depending on your bank.
The information in your Back Market account must be completed before you receive your payment. Under “My trade-ins”, make sure your bank account number, account holder name, and routing number are all filled out.
If the device doesn’t match the assessment, the refurbisher will propose a counteroffer that accurately reflects its value, which you can accept or reject. If you decline the offer, the device will be shipped back to you for free within 2 business days.
How is the value of my trade-in calculated?
The refurbishers have wishlists of devices and prices they’ll pay for them. Using your assessment, we match you with the highest offer.
