Having trouble applying your promo code at checkout? Here's what might be going wrong:
- You've already used it
- It’s expired
- You’re not logged in to the right Back Market account
- The promo code doesn’t exist
Remember, promo codes are only given through Back Market and our partners. Be careful not to trust codes you find online.
Common error messages and what to do
| “Enter a valid promo code.” | The promo code doesn't look right. Make sure you copied the code without any spaces or missing characters. |
| “Promo code can't be used in your country.” | This promo code only works on a specific marketplace. Make sure you're on the correct Back Market website. |
| “This gift voucher is only for newcomers.” | This promo code can only be used for your first order on Back Market. |
| “This code has a limited number of uses and you've reached the maximum.” | For referral codes, the number of uses is limited to 3 per month by different users. Try again next month. Learn more about referral codes |
| “This code is only valid from $X of purchase.” | Your promo code has a fixed minimum amount. Make sure to buy an item above this amount. Note that the minimum doesn't include the Protection Plan. |
| “This code is only valid with the purchase of X items.” | There's a fixed minimum quantity of items. Please make sure you meet it. |
| This promo code has expired. | It's past your code's expiration date. You can no longer use it. |
| “This gift card is not available right now. Come back in (X amount of time).” | The promo code might not be validated yet. After trying again, reach out to the partner who gave you the promo code or contact Back Market Customer Care. |
| “Ah no. This promo code is not for you.” | The promo code is linked to another Back Market account. Make sure you’re logged in to the correct account to use it. |
What if my order was refunded or canceled?
Most of our promo codes are single-use, which means if your order is refunded you won't be able to use the code again. That said, if your order was canceled by the seller, your promo code will be reactivated. Just reach out to us via the conversation on your Back Market "Orders" page and selecting the "Get help" button next to your order.
