How do I get the discount?
Go to iSmash’s landing page for Back Market customers to request your discount code and schedule your appointment with the iSmash repair shop most convenient for you, or even choose to mail your device to them!
Is this available outside of the UK?
Nope, this offer is just for the UK. But we’re constantly expanding our partnerships into other markets. You can find more information in each market’s FAQ on this topic.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on the phone model and type of repair, but see below for some general price ranges for common repairs. These prices already include a £20 discount on repairs of £35 or above, courtesy of Back Market.
-
Battery replacement (smartphones): £20-£60
-
Broken screen: £80-£300
- Speaker issues: £15-£50
Where are the repair shops?
The repair shops are all over the UK and you can pick the one most convenient for you. All of them are continuously monitored for quality, repair time, and customer care, so you can be sure you'll get the best possible experience.
Can I send my device in for repair?
Yes! Just request the mail-in option when booking your repair and iSmash will ship you a box to send them your device in. Please note that there is an additional charge of £10 to cover the shipment costs and that the repair must be paid for at the time of booking.
What devices are eligible for repair?
Our partner iSmash currently repairs the following devices:
- Apple*, Samsung, and Google Smartphones
- Apple iPads*
- Battery replacements for MacBooks*
*Please note that the £20 discount does not apply to Apple Genuine parts.
How much time does it take for a repair?
Generally, in most cases, it takes less than a day at the repair shops for a complete fix, but this can be extended depending on other factors such as the type of repair, availability of spare parts, and the workload of the repair shop. For mail-in repairs, there is additional time needed for delivery and return shipping of the device (generally 2-3 days).
What information do I need to get the repair?
When requesting a repair, iSmash will ask for the following information:
- Your full name
- Your item’s order number from when you purchased it on Back Market
- Your email address
- The brand and model of your device
- Your address in case of mail-in repair or to find the closest repair shop
- A description of what’s wrong with your device
Is there really a £20 off discount on the repair from Back Market?
Sure is! We love our customers and believe that repairing a device is the best thing for you, us, and the planet, so we want to do everything we can to encourage it.
Can someone else bring my item to the repair shop?
Absolutely — just have them provide your name and the reference number you received in your confirmation email when they drop off the item.
Does iSmash provide a warranty on the repairs?
Yes. iSmash guarantees the parts used against any manufacturing defects with the following warranty periods:
- iSmash compatible replacement part: lifetime warranty
- Battery: 12-month warranty
What if my item can't be repaired?
Unfortunately, not all issues are repairable. If this is the case with your device, one alternative is to check out our Trade-in program which ensures the broken item is properly taken care of while also putting some cash in your pocket.
Why am I getting an "Important Issue" message on my iPhone after the repair?
In order to discourage the use of non-genuine Apple parts, Apple products will display a warning message when a non-genuine Apple part is used in a repair despite the replacement part being 100% compatible. The message states simply that the part could not be verified as a genuine Apple part and provides a link to learn more about it. However, this message does not affect the functionality of the phone at all and will disappear after 4 days.
