Why haven’t I received a payment confirmation?
Your checklist before getting paid
- Make sure that the required info is saved in your account: bank account number, sort code,
- Make sure that the date of birth on your Back Market account is exactly the same as the date of birth on your passport or driving licence. If you’re not 18 years old yet, you’ll have to ask a parent or legal guardian to help you make the sale.
- For security purposes, the first name and surname must also be the same on your passport or driving licence and Back Market account profile. If the two are different, please edit your Back Market account profile.
For the safety of our customers and refurbishers, we have different layers of verification and security that must be established before sending out payments. This is why it can take up to 6 business days for funds to appear in your bank account.
How to check if you’ve been paid
Log in to your Back Market account > "My trade-ins"
If "Payment sent" appears, it means that the refurbisher has initiated the payment on the date indicated.
If you feel that the payment should have been launched, please contact the refurbisher again.
Payment status
If all of the above conditions are met, the payment will appear in your bank account within 6 business days.
Please note the wording explicitly says "Back Market Trade-in".
If you notice after 6 business days that your order has this status but nothing appears in your bank account, you can contact us directly here and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
Why haven’t I received a payment confirmation?
You might not have received a payment confirmation because the refurbisher has not yet confirmed that your item has been accepted.
To see if you’ve received any messages about any issues from the refurbisher, log in to your Back Market account > "My trade-ins". If it’s been more than 2 business days since the refurbisher received your item, you can also send them a message and ask via "My trade-ins".
