The 1-year commercial warranty and its exclusions
This warranty, offered by the seller, automatically applies to all devices purchased on Back Market. The 1-year Commercial Warranty is valid for 12 months from delivery of your device. It covers all defects for hardware and software. In case no warranty exclusion applies, the seller will repair a defective device or offer a replacement for it. You’re eligible for a refund if the seller can't repair or replace it.

The 1-year Commercial Warranty is offered in addition to the legal guarantees due by the Seller and therefore does not affect your rights under the legal guarantees.

Warranty exclusions
The 1-year Commercial Warranty will not cover your item if it is:
- Lost, dropped, or broken
- Damaged by liquids (oxidation)
- Opened for repair or diagnosis by you or a third party not authorized by the seller
In other words, if a malfunction occurs with your item, but it has been broken/oxidized/opened by a third party, or shows signs of impact due to a fall, the warranty will no longer apply.
Note that the original waterproofing by the manufacturer is rarely maintained on refurbished devices. During the refurbishing process, devices are opened so that tests can be carried out, which is why sealing is not guaranteed on refurbished items.
Good to know
Be sure to let us know as soon as your device is defective. Otherwise, your service request may be rejected, and the seller won't be obligated to repair or replace your item.
Is your device no longer covered?
Don't despair, there are still a few things you could do:
- Repair it. Sometimes all broken things need is a little extra love. Check out discounted repairs we can offer close to you.
- Trade it in. There might be sellers looking to buy back a device exactly like yours. Check out our trade-in page and see if you can get some money for your device while keeping it in circulation. Your wallet and the planet will thank you!
- Recycle it. Sometimes a device has lived the best life it can and it's time to truly let it go. Recycling it can ensure every component of it is put to the best possible use.

You have 30 days to try out your new device and decide if it's right for you. If you’re not satisfied, you can return it to the seller within 30 days of delivery.

We’ve got additional protection for your device you can purchase from our insurance partner that covers things like accidental damage. It can also extend your coverage.
