How does Back Market prevent counterfeit items from being sold?

Back Market works to keep counterfeit items off our marketplace through a rigorous seller vetting process and continuous checks by our Innovation Lab.

What should I do if I suspect an item is counterfeit?

If you think your item is counterfeit, contact Back Market Costumer Care through your order.

Back Market Customer Care will review your issue and let you know what to do next. If an inspection is required, they may send a prepaid shipping label in your Back Market account so the item can be returned for inspection.

The inspection process takes up to 2 business days after Back Market receives the item.

What happens if my item is confirmed to be counterfeit?

If the inspection confirms your item is counterfeit, you'll receive a refund. Refunds should appear in your account within 7 business days, depending on your bank and payment method.

Back Market will also take appropriate action regarding the seller.

What happens if my item is found to be authentic?

If the inspection finds your item is authentic, we'll ship it back to you free of charge.

What happens to sellers who sell counterfeit items?

We have a zero-tolerance policy for sellers caught selling counterfeit items. These sellers are banned from selling in the affected category.

A seller may qualify to sell in that category again only if they have no further history of fraud or counterfeiting and can demonstrate improvements to their authentication processes.
