For all Mac users, a common issue is the dreaded slow start — the lingering Apple logo. If you're installing macOS, the Apple logo or progress bar might last longer than usual because it takes some time to install the OS. As installation continues, the progress bar might move slowly and pause for long periods. We recommend starting the macOS installation at night or after you've completed all of your work at the end of the day — so it can finish overnight while you're asleep if needed.
Your Mac will show an Apple logo when it finds your startup disk, which is the disk built into your Mac. As the startup continues, you should see a progress bar, with or without the Apple logo. This screen might alternate with a blank screen several times.
