Typically AT&T and T-Mobile are on the GSM network, while Verizon and Sprint use
CDMA. Currently, Sprint is the only carrier that requires you to call and activate your new device.
Even though Verizon runs on CDMA, their system is advanced enough where you can
just pop the SIM card from the old phone to a new phone and be on your way.
