If you’ve sent your item to the refurbisher and are still waiting to get paid, check the status of your BuyBack sale:
- Log in to your Back Market account
- Select “My BuyBack sales”
- Click on “See more details”
After checking the status of your BuyBack sale, one of these sections might be helpful:
- Has the payment been processed?
- It’s been over 6 business days, why haven’t I been paid?
- Why haven’t I received a payment confirmation?
Has the payment been processed?
If you see a message like the one below, it means that the refurbisher has started processing your payment on the date shown.
For the safety of our customers and refurbishers, we have different layers of verification and security that must be established before sending out payments. This is the reason it can take up to 6 business days for the funds to appear in your bank account.
It’s been over 6 business days, why haven’t I been paid?
First, make sure that your bank account number, routing number, and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number are saved in your account. This information is required for payment.
To check this, log in to your Back Market account and select “My BuyBack sales” and then “Track my sold item(s)".
If your banking information is missing, enter your bank account, routing number, and account holder’s name.
If the last 4 digits of your Social Security number are missing, enter it here.
In some cases, you may be asked to verify your identity by sending a valid ID.
Check that the image of your ID is clear, in color, and of good quality. For driver’s licenses and state-issued IDs, be sure to include images of the front and back.
Make sure that the date of birth on your Back Market account is exactly the same as the birthdate on your ID card. If you’re not 18 years old yet, you’ll have to ask a parent or legal guardian to help you make the sale.
For security purposes, the first and last name must also be the same on your ID and Back Market account profile. If the two are different, please edit your Back Market account profile.
⚠ If any of these criteria are not met, the payment cannot be completed.
Note: It may take up to 6 business days following the completion of all documents for your payment to appear in your account.
Why haven’t I received a payment confirmation?
This likely means that the refurbisher has not yet confirmed that your item has been accepted. Once a refurbisher receives an item, they have 2 business days to confirm the sale and send payment, report an issue, or send a counteroffer.
To see if you’ve received messages about any issues from the refurbisher, log in to your Back Market account. For example, your device might still be locked or linked to your iCloud/Google account.
If there appears to be no issues, go to the “My BuyBack sales” tab in your Back Market account. The refurbisher may have contacted you through there. If not, don’t hesitate to send an email to ask when they will be processing the payment.
If it’s been more than 2 business days since the refurbisher received your item, please send a message to the seller also through the "My BuyBack sales" tab in your Back Market account.
