Useful manipulations
1/3 - Reset your Beats
Click on your model below and follow the instructions to reset your earbuds:
Beats Fit Pro
- Make sure that both earbuds are in the charging case — keep the case open.
- Press and hold the system button until the light blinks red and white then release the button.
- The light will blink white to indicate that your Beats have been reset.
Beats Flex
- Press and hold the power button and volume down button for 15 seconds.
- When the light blinks, release both buttons to reset your Beats.
Beats Studio Buds
- Make sure that both earbuds are in the charging case — keep the case open.
- Press and hold the system button until the light blinks red and white then release the button.
- The light will blink white to indicate that your Beats have been reset.
Beats X
- Press and hold the power button and volume down button for 15 seconds.
- When the light blinks, release both buttons to reset your Beats.
Powerbeats
- Press and hold the power button and volume down button for 15 seconds.
- When the light blinks, release both buttons to reset your Beats.
Powerbeats 2
- Connect your earbuds to a power source.
- Press and hold the power button and volume down button for 10 seconds and release to reset your Beats.
Powerbeats 3
- Press and hold the power button and volume down button for 15 seconds.
- When the light blinks, release both buttons to reset your Beats.
Powerbeats Pro

- Press and hold the system button until the light blinks red and white then release the button.

2/3 - Clean your Beats
It’s important to keep the ear tips on your Beats clean. Don’t wear them if they’re dirty!
Hot tips:
- Use a dry cloth to clean your Beats.
- Use a wet cloth to clean the ear tips — remove them from your Beats first, and be sure to rinse and dry them before placing them back on your earbuds.
Remember: Refurbished earbuds and protective cases are not waterproof. Don’t submerge them in water.
Take care of your earbuds:
- Don’t allow your Beats to come into contact with liquid or humidity.
- Disconnect your earbuds correctly. It’s best to remove the charger from the case rather than unplugging the cable from the power source.
Store them properly:
- Store your earbuds in the protective case and avoid contact with sunlight, heat, or cold.
- To preserve the condition of your earbuds, always keep them in their protective case and avoid contact with sunlight, heat, or cold.
Take care of your lightning cable:
If you experience a charging issue because of the cable, clean it like so:
- Disconnect the cable from all devices and power sources.
- Clean the cable with a dry and soft cloth — don’t use liquids or cleaning products.
3/3 - Other things to double check
Location:
We recommend that you place your Beats near the device you want to pair it to — try to keep them within at least 30 feet of one another. Make sure to keep them away from other Bluetooth devices and all household or electronic appliances that can emit waves as this can interfere with the connection.
Settings:
The settings of the device that you want to pair your Beats with will differ.
- I have an iPhone/iPad/iPod:
Go to Settings > Bluetooth > select your Beats
- I have a MacBook:
Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Sound. Make sure your Beats are selected in Output and Input.
- I have a PC:
Go to the sound settings of your laptop and select your Beats as the audio component.
Forget Device option:
Still unable to pair? Try the following steps as a last resort!
- I have an iPhone/iPad/iPod:
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and click the blue “Info” button next to the name of your Beats and click “Forget This Device.”
- I have a MacBook:
Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Bluetooth and select your Beats device. Click “X” and select “Forget Device.”
