Useful manipulations
1/2 - Update your software
iOS devices
Do it directly on your smartphone!
- Back up your device with iCloud or on your computer
- Plug your device into a power source and make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update
- You may see two software updates, pick the one you want to install

Android devices
- Go to Settings > System > System update
- You’ll be able to see your update status — follow the steps that appear on the screen
2/2 - Set up your location settings
iOS devices
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services
- Verify that the Location Services feature is on
- Scroll down to see one of your apps
- Click on the app and select one of the following:
- Never: Stops access to Location Services information
- Ask Next Time: This gives you the option to select one of the following:
- Always While Using App
- Allow Once
- Don't Allow
- While Using the App: Only gives access to Location Services if the app or one of its features appears on the screen — when an app is set to "While using the app" you might be able to see it on the status bar with a prompt stating that it is currently using your location
- Always: Gives access to your location whether the app is on or not

Android devices
- Go to Settings > Location Data
- Check that "location information access" is on — the button must be blue
- Go to Settings > Location Data > App permission — it may also be called “Location” depending on your device
- Here you will see the location settings for your apps:
- Never: Denies access to your location
- While Using the App: Gives access to your location when the app or any of its features appear on the screen
- Always: Gives access to your location whether the app is on or not
