There are 4 ways to find out if your device is enabled for 5G in the UK.
Check its technical specifications on Back Market
You can quickly check if a device supports 5G in the “Technical Specifications” section of any Back Market product page.
Search the web
Do a quick web search for the full model name (including model number/variant) to confirm 5G support and UK band compatibility.
Go to your phone’s "Settings"
You can also check in your phone’s settings.
- iPhone: Go to “Settings” > “Mobile Data” > “Mobile Data Options” > “Voice & Data”. If you see 5G options (e.g., 5G Auto/5G On), your iPhone supports 5G.
- Android: Go to “Settings” > “Network & Internet” (or “Connections”) > “Mobile network(s)”. You should see a preferred network list with 2G/3G/4G/5G. If 5G is listed, your device supports 5G.
Contact your network (carrier)
Even if your phone supports 5G, you’ll need a UK plan and coverage that includes 5G. Check with your network (EE, O2, Vodafone UK, or Three) for:
- Whether your plan includes 5G access.
- 5G coverage in your area (coverage maps vary by network and location).
- Whether your specific model/variant supports the UK 5G bands used by your network.
Note: 5G availability varies by location and device variant. Some UK networks have switched off 3G, so ensure 4G/VoLTE and 5G are enabled for the best service.
