You can cancel your policy within the first 30 days of purchasing it and receive a full refund. Simply log in to your Back Market account, go to the ‘Protection plans’ section, click on your plan, then on “cancel plan” and “confirm my cancellation”.
If you don’t see this last option, the 30-day withdrawal period has ended.
If you return your device within the first 30 days, your policy will be canceled automatically and you’ll receive a full refund for your policy if you haven’t already used it.
After that first 30 days, you cannot cancel an insurance policy except in the case of:
- Death of the policyholder
- A returned and partially refunded order due to missing accessories, in which case, the cancellation will not be automatic
- Loss of the device
In these cases, please contact the insurance provider directly so they can cancel the policy and issue you a pro-rata refund* on the payment method you used to purchase.
If you purchased your insurance plan on or after April 25th, 2024, your provider is Evy and you can contact them at: backmarket@evy.eu
If you purchased your plan anytime before April 25th, 2024, you are covered by Bolttech and you can contact them at: backmarket-uk@bolttech.eu
In case of a full refund by the seller, Back Market will automatically cancel the insurance policy and you will receive the appropriate refund.
As a reminder, the insurance is only valid for the period you purchased and that renewal is not currently possible.

*The pro-rata refund is based on the number of remaining months in the current coverage year at the time the policy is canceled. For example: You need to terminate the policy in March, but the policy coverage is from January to December. You will have already been covered for 3 months, so the pro-rata refund will account for 12 months minus 3 months = 9 months.
